ABOUT Harlem School of the arts

Harlem School of the Arts is a cultural arts center of interdisciplinary excellence. For over 50 years, HSA has built a community centered around a dynamic global curriculum, with a focus on diasporas of prominence in Harlem and Upper Manhattan.

Project Scope

HSA’s Media and Design program provides their student artists with the knowledge, skills and training to navigate and pursue interests spanning a range of multimedia forms including animation, comic book art, painting, digital art design and drawing. Throughout the year, students, faculty and parents celebrate the accomplishments and talents of students during exhibits. Kimmy The Great, Inc was presented with an opportunity to support the creation of the departments first catalog presenting in print format, the original work of students who’s work was featured in the “Blue and Black” Exhibits. KTG, Inc worked closely with faculty including the Design and Media Chair, HSA’s marketing and public relations team and external graphic designer and creative director to support the creation of the catalog, including it’s cover design, creative layout, and content strategy.

THE OUTCOME

In addition to liaising with HSA’s students and faculty to establish the framework for their personal biographies, and program descriptions, KTG, Inc. provided copy writing services and project management to bring this time-sensitive 11x17 bound catalog to fruition. The result was a beautifully designed keepsake filled with the outstanding artwork of students from ages 6 through 19.
